Children received shelter and formal education

Three siblings lived under a tree in the Kaushambi district of Uttar Pradesh. Two years back, the children lost their father, a blind man, and their mother left them on their own last year.

Being orphans, they did not have anyone to take care of them and were surviving by begging for money and food. When the Project DVEUS team came to know about the children’s condition, they decided to support the children by engaging the relevant government stakeholders.

After visiting the site, the situation was observed, and children were found to be living in very vulnerable conditions, without any shelter. Hence, the matter was taken to the Kaushambi Child Welfare Committee. After analyzing the situation, the children were given ration cards and sent to SOS village. It was informed that kids would stay in the home until they complete 18 years of age, and during their stay, they would pursue education at the SOS home. Currently, the DVEUS team is doing follow-ups to take updates on the children. DVEUS is happy that these three siblings will stay together in the care of the SOS team.
